Tigers 2012 Spring Training TV schedule

Mario Impemba and Rod Allen will once again handle TV broadcast duties in 2012.

It’s been a long time since there has been this much anticipation for a Tigers season. Coming off their first division title in nearly a quarter of a century, the Tigers have added Prince Fielder to their potent lineup, and they have American League Most Valuable Player and Cy Young Award winner Justin Verlander in his prime. Oh, and don’t forget Miguel Cabrera, the reigning batting champion.

Tiger fans have several opportunities to see the boys play this spring from Florida. Here’s the TV broadcast schedule (subject to change):

  • March 14 — vs. New York Mets (ESPN)
  • March 19 — vs. Philadelphia Phillies (ESPN)
  • March 20 — vs. Atlanta Braves (ESPN)
  • March 21 — vs. Minnesota Twins (Fox Sports Detroit)
  • March 29 — vs. Washington Nationals (Fox Sports Detroit)
  • March 31 — vs. Atlanta Braves (Fox Sports Detroit)
  • April 4 — vs. Toledo Mud Hens (Fox Sports Detroit)

There are plenty of questions to be answered this spring that will make it interesting to watch the Tigers.

  • Who will secure the #5 spot in the starting rotation?
  • Will Miguel Cabrera be able to handle his switch back to third base?
  • How will Prince Fielder look in a Tiger uniform, and how will opposing pitchers approach him and Cabrera?
  • Will Austin Jackson hit well enough to stay at the top of the order?
  • Who will start in left field, Andy Dirks, Clete Thomas, Delmon Young, or someone else?
  • Is Rick Porcello finally ready to take a big step forward in his career?
  • Which player will get most of the starts at second base, Ryan Raburn or Ramon Santiago?
  • How will Brandon Inge accept being a part-time player?
