Tiger Stadium Disappearing Before Our Eyes

The only recognizable part of Tiger Stadium still standing is the elevator shaft that has hovered over the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Cochrane (once National) since the early 1920s.  The rest of the stadium is a pile of rubble awaiting its voyage to a local garbage dump.

I am still amazed by the number of people who show up every day to say goodbye to their old friend at The Corner.  It is an incredible testament to what the stadium has meant to so many people over the years.

Below is fan-taken footage of stadium demolition from about a week ago.
