Tour the Tigers’ Clubhouse with the Mayo Smith Society

The Mayo Smith Society will be holding its 24th annual gathering in Detroit on Saturday, May 24 this year.  Society administrator, Todd Miller, tells me he’s expecting a great turn out — but that new members are welcome to join in on the Society’s festivities.

The first event of the day will be a tour of the Detroit Tigers’ clubhouse at Comerica Park from 10am to 12pm.  The cost is $25 and you must be a Society member in order to participate.  Miller will be camped outside of Comerica Park around 9am on the 24th outside the Tigers’ administrative offices on Brush Street to sign up new members.

This is a great opportunity to join the Mayo Smith Society and spend the day with Tigers faithful who will travel in from all across the country.  I’ve taken the clubhouse tour in the past — both at Tiger Stadium and Comerica Park — and it is incredible.

Other events include a book signing at the Detroit Yacht Club and, of course, the 7:05pm Tigers’ game against the Minnesota Twins.

To book the clubhouse tour or the ballgame with The Society in advance, please RSVP with Todd Miller at 412-421-3664 or [email protected] by Wednesday May 21, 2008.  Space is limited.
