It’s official. Hometown hockey legend Mike Modano is finally a Detroit Red Wing.
Yesterday’s press conference included an elated Mike Ilitch who watched Modano rise through the ranks of Michigan’s amateur circuit. Modano helped Ilitch win his first midget 
national championship.
Modano went on to become the highest scoring American in NHL history.
“Cuppy, Cuppy, Cuppy,” was the predition from Ilitch, alluding to the prospect of the Red Wings winning the 2010-11 Stanley Cup Championship with the addition of Modano.
