It wasn’t too long ago that most casual Detroit Red Wings fans didn’t know the team’s roster. I mean the entire roster — including the guys who hadn’t yet become household names. Funny how a Stanley Cup Championship has changed all that.
Today, the Red Wings players are thought of as old friends by most Detroiters. Their names are as familiar as family members. If there is another Stanley Cup championship next year, the Red Wings players — all of them — will reach celebrity status throughout the country.
