Ty Cobb, the pride of his home town, is being honored in a special weekend celebration next month at the official Ty Cobb Museum. The museum is located in the Joe A. Adams Professional Building of Ty Cobb Healthcare System in Royston, Georgia.
The Cobb Museum is celebrating its 10th anniversary — and the 121 birthday of The Georgia Peach — the weekend of July 17-19. Events include a candle light vigil at Cobb’s grave, a Ty Cobb Memorial Golf tournament, a vintage baseball game at Cobb Field, an outdoor barbecue, and a theater performance featuring a Cobb impersonator.
